Yet again, another incorrect reference to the Western Wall as Judaism’s holiest site, this time in The Irish Times. (The Western Wall is the holiest site that Jews are able to pray at while the Temple Mount is actually the holiest site.)
What makes this story particularly “special” is the accompanying photo caption.
The caption reads: “Jewish women pray at the men’s section of the Western Wall, in Jerusalem’s Old City.”
As things currently stand, men pray in the men’s section and women pray in the women’s section, while there is the option for egalitarian prayer at nearby Robinson’s Arch. There is certainly no option for women to pray in the men’s section.
We’ve contacted The Irish Times to get corrections. Watch this space.
